These are pictures from last year's Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's Walk For A Cure.  It was the first walk that our family participated in and we raised over $10,000.00!  My two grandsons, Aidan and Ryan, were diagnosed four years ago at the ages of 15 months and 3 years. It was a shock to our family because no one on either side has diabetes.  In addition, they developed Celiacs Disease (gluten intolerance), which about 10% of Type I Diabetic children develop.  Researchers are very close to several "cure" options for children with diabetes. Jim and I set a goal to raise $6000.00 (just the two of us!) for this year's walk. Through support of family, friends, and Jim's business associates and customers and two scrapbooking crops we organized, we have raised $5500.00 so far!  We are so close to our goal! Woo!Hoo!  If anyone would like to donate to the JDRF, you can do so online at jdrf.org.  Click on donate and select Aidan and Ryan's Warrior Walkers (Martina and Jim Fegan).  You can also send a check made payable to JDRF to Martina Fegan, 19 Obsidian Drive, Chambersburg, PA 17202.  Thousands of children are diagnosed each year making diabetes one of the fastest growing childhood diseases.  Although the disease can be managed, children can suffer major complications including death.  Hope you can help us fund a cure!  Thank you!
