80 YEARS YOUNG!

Today we celebrated my mother's 80th birthday!  She told us in no uncertain terms that she didn't want a big party or a card shower, or anything else except that her family be together.  We decided to honor her request and have a gathering with just the family.  My brother, Doug, flew in from Pensacola yesterday, which she was not expecting, and we all shared a wonderful brunch together at Emily's in Chambersburg.   The only disappointment was that for some reason, some of my pictures came out blurred or grainy.  I did get a few good shots though.
It was fun decorating the tables in the beautiful colors of autumn.

My mother's favorite dessert is ice cream.  She could eat it every day, several times a day, but she restrains herself!  We got her an ice cream custard cake.  One layer was chocolate with an oreo layer between the chocolate and a layer of raspberry.  Delicious!
My brother, Doug (left), me, and my brother, Bill with the star of the day!
The grandchildren are (left to right):  Annisa, Kaytee, Becky, Tim, and Jennifer.  Annisa, Becky, and Jennifer are my daughters;  Kaytee is Bill's daughter; Tim is Doug's son.
These are Mom's great-grandchildren!  Left to right:  Wyatt (Kaytee's boyfriend's son),  Aidan, Kari, Robert Dixon, Ryan, Clara, and Sasha!
And we can't forget Mom's "outlaws" -  Cory (Annisa's hubby), Adam (Jennifer's hubby), Jim (my hubby), Tammy (Bill's wife), and Barry (Becky's hubby). Mom loves the outlaws!!!
Our gift to Mom was a money tree, a lovely pendant, and her favorite perfume.
Mom was so happy to have all of her family together for this very special day.  It isn't every day that you turn 80!  She sure doesn't look her age, does she?
Happy Birthday Mom!  I Love You!

SOCCER SATURDAY

It was a chilly fall day today in southern Maryland!  But it was so much fun watching the boys play soccer.  The first game was Aidan's team:  The Green Chargers!
Aidan played defense for most of the game.  He played really well and saved the ball from going into the goal numerous times.
During practice he played goalie, but one of the girls on his team was the goalie for most of the game.  She was really good and she and Aidan worked well together.

Aidan is number one - literally!  Plus his Nana thinks he is number one, too!  Look at him hustle to get the ball!  His team tied 3-3.
At 2:30 it was back to the soccer field to watch Ryan play.

Ryan really moves and does a little soccer dance as he hustles to get the ball.
He did really well during practice and it paid off during the game.
Ryan scored two goals!  His team also tied their game.  He is a member of the Maroon Monsters!
A triumphant Ryan runs through the love tunnel at the end of the game!

My Baby Is Having A Baby!

WOW!  Was it only a few years ago that my Becky, my "baby,"  got married?!?  On her wedding day it was hard for me to realize that she was old enough to get married.  Now she and Barry are expecting a baby!
By the way, on her wedding day, she was an aunt to four nieces and nephews!  Since then, she welcomed her third nephew, Robert Dixon.  She looks so natural holding this precious baby just hours after he was born!
Becky and Barry are definitely going to be involved parents because they already love going to see their nieces and nephews in all of their activities.  This summer they watched Aidan in his T-Ball All Star tournament. Where there are kids, you will find Barry and Becky!
Who is crazy enough to climb a tree ?  Becky!  And Kari had to join in the fun!
Want to ride the roller coaster?  Just ask Becky!  She's a kid's dream come true at an amusement park!
Kids Luuuuuuuvvvvvvvvvvvvvvv   Barry!  I can just see him reading to his little one!
Every addition to our family is so special.  Sometime around Memorial Day we will welcome another member to our family.  I can't wait!  Aidan, Ryan, Kari, Sasha, Clara, and Dixon will have a new little cousin to play with. Life is amazing!
