Scrapbooking For Juvenile Diabetes!

Every fall for the last four years, we have hosted a scrapbooking "Crop For A Cure" to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Saturday over forty wonderful women gathered at Central Presbyterian Church in Chambersburg and scrapbooked for twelve hours! Yes, from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm, these scrapbookers and card makers armed with paper, embellishments, Cricuits, and all kinds of tools of the trade scrapped their hearts out! We even had a core group of digital scrapbookers! Thanks to some amazing area businesses like Subway Sandwiches and Salads of Chambersburg, Food Lion of Shippensburg, Tastefully Simple, and Walmart, we had a great lunch, snacks, and dinner.
One of our vendors, Ally Beaudry of Creative Memories, demonstrated some of CM's new products, donated a silent auction item, and gave JDRF 10% of the sales from the day! Thanks Ally!
Several scrapbooking companies, including a number of digital designers from ScrapMatters, and some anonymous donors from our scrapbooking ladies donated our hourly doorprizes AND our First, Second, and Grand Prizes awarded at the end of the evening.
Because we have no out-of-pocket expenses, we were able to raise $2041.52 for research to find a cure for Type 1 Juvenile Diabetes. 15,000 children are diagnosed DAILY. We need to find a cure! Hope you can join us for our Love Crop February 19, 2011. Again , 100% of the proceeds benefits the JDRF. Four of our scrapbookers have already registered! Woo Hoo! We are always in need of meal sponsors. If you or anyone you know would like to help us with our Love Crop, please let me know! Thanks again ladies for another wonderfully rewarding Scrapbooking/Craft Crop!
