Just 24 hours after our great night at the ball game, Jim and I experienced first hand the scary effects of Juvenile Diabetes. Saturday evening Aidan registered high glucose numbers that we couldn't control, even with the help of a doctor on call at Children's Hospital in DC. To make a long story short, after watching this precious little boy vomit six times and suffer distress, we ended up at the emergency room at Chambersburg Hospital. The staff was fantastic. He was admitted overnight and got the care he needed. Turns out, his pump was defective and he wasn't getting the insulin he needed. I want to thank all of you for your prayers and concern. My deepest thanks goes to the Chambersburg Hospital doctors, nurses, and diabetes educator for their awesome care. I also want to thank everyone who has contributed to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Walk For A Cure. So far, we have raised almost $6000.00. Hopefully researchers will soon find a cure for children like Aidan and his brother, Ryan.

He's doing much better! He and his brother are getting new pumps from a new company on Wednesday at Children's Hospital in D.C. We are all going to be trained about the pumps so that we can troubleshoot if necessary. The old pump company has had so many problems with defective pumps - this was the final straw! Thanks for your prayers for a cure.
