2010 Goals-Two Month Update

This year I committed to setting goals versus resolutions for 2010 because goals seem more attainable to me and the word resolution screams "meant to be broken!" It's just a matter of semantics, but it's like I often say: "Whatever floats your boat!" So - goals it is! Okay, let's see how I have done so far.
Goal # 1. Keep a list of books read. Since my last update I finished The Help by Kathryn Stockett and read Wench by Dolen Perkins-Valdez, Day After Night by Anita Diament, and started Comfort Food by Kate Jacobs. I have enjoyed every book I have read so far. LOVE LOVE LOVE The Help and Wench! That makes six books in eight weeks.
Goal #2. Lose 25 pounds. I am so excited to report that I am just over halfway there! Thirteen pounds in 8 weeks. I feel much better and can now fit into clothes I haven't worn in a long time.
Goal #3. Update the Upstairs. After living in chaos for over a month, we are almost finished! I painted the hallway and one bedroom and had our bedroom painted by a professional painter because I ran out of time and energy! The floors and stairs are finished and look beautiful. The rooms are back together (pretty much) and the only project left is the stair banister. I am so glad we decided to get it down now versus in the summer. It was definitely messy and dusty, but well worth the mess!
Goal #4. 20th Anniversary plans. Haven't done anything yet - the upstairs project took too much time and focus. I will have to get on this! Any suggestions?
Goal #5. Photography Fun. For the same reasons as Goal #4, I have not made any arrangements to learn anything! I probably should upgrade my camera first, but that might be awhile!
Goal #6. Write. No progress with this goal either! No reasons or excuses.
Goal #7. Trip to the Big Apple. Sigh! I really would like to make a trip to NYC this summer. Anyone interested?!?!?!?!
Goal #8. Raise $7000.00 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. We are on our way! Last month we held our Love Crop and raised almost $1000.00 Registrations have been arriving already for our fall crop, so I am on the way to that $7000.00!
Holding myself accountable by reporting in to you regularly helps keep me focused on meeting my goals. It is definitely a bit embarrassing to not see progress, so thanks for being my indirect support system!
